Dennis Jansen was quoted in an article for The Dispatch newspaper on Texas A&M enrollment that was published on June 8, 2026. The article details Texas A&M University's more humble beginnings as a military school to it's present day iteration - the home of 74,407 students on the main College Station campus.

Other higher education institutions have not been so fortunate. "I think some of the other states, even some of their public schools that are large but not the flagship universities, have seen troubles with enrollment,” said Jansen.

The greater College Station-Bryan metro area has seen substantial growth and diversification over the past twenty five years, and although Texas A&M may have hit the 'pause' button on enrollment, Jansen said "The future is bright."
