On Wednesday, August 20, KBTX interviewed Dennis Jansen as part of a story on the local economy that took place during the BCS Chamber of Commerce Economic Outlook Summit.

At the Summit, Jansen presented on local, state, and economic factors including employment, unemployment, GDP, the stock market, and state and national debt levels. “The local area, by some measures, is growing faster than the average in the State of Texas. We have employment growth, we have low unemployment rates, we have real output or real GDP growth,” explained Jansen.

“The local economy actually appears to be in pretty good shape. There is some evidence of slowing at the national level, but there’s no clear indication of an imminent recession,” said Jansen.
