On Thursday, March 6, 2025, Ms. Romina Boccia gave the presentation, “Debt Dynamics: Understanding the National Debt and How it Shapes Our Future” to community members, students and faculty at the Texas A&M Memorial Student Center.

Romina Boccia is the director of budget and entitlement policy at the Cato Institute, focusing on reducing government spending and debt through entitlement reform. A graduate of George Mason University, Boccia is the author of the Debt Dispatch, a widely read Substack on U.S. fiscal policy, and previously led budget policy at the Heritage Foundation, where she published legislative analyses and budget plans for Congress and the Executive Branch. In this role, she also testified before the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.

Ms. Boccia’s presentation focused on national debt as a share of GDP, federal government expenditures and entitlements, as well as past and previous legislative attempts to balance the national budget.
