PERC to Host Pia Orrenius and Roberto Salinas-León on 10/14

Summary: The Private Enterprise Research Center invites the faculty, staff and students to attend a presentation with Pia Orrenius, vice president and senior economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, along with Dr. Roberto Salinas‐León, president of the Business Forum in Mexico City and director of the Atlas Network Center for Latin America. The presentation will discuss the current economic and political climate in Mexico. The event will also be live-streamed on Facebook.
 

Pia Orrenius manages the regional and microeconomics group in the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’s Research Department. She was a senior economist on the Council of Economic Advisers from 2004 to 2005, where she advised the Bush administration on labor, health and immigration issues. She is the executive editor of Southwest Economy.

Roberto Salinas-León is President of the Mexico Business Forum and the Director of the Atlas Network’s Center for Latin America. He has testified before the U.S. Congress on NAFTA and free trade, structural reform in Mexico, and monetary and exchange rate policy. He has been published in the Wall Street JournalThe Journal of Commerce, and Barron’s.
