Jonathan Meer Wins University Professorship for Undergraduate Teaching Excellence

Summary: PERC is proud to announce that Jonathan Meer, PERC’s Jordan Professor of Public Policy, was one of three Texas A&M faculty awarded the University Professorships for Undergraduate Teaching Excellence. This award is given to the most distinguished instructors of undergraduate students who excel at classroom instruction, pedagogy innovation, creative teaching methods, and engaging with other educators in pursuit of excellence.  Award recipients receive a three-year stipend and bursary to support teaching and increase professional development opportunities.
 
Professor Meer also serves as the Director of Undergraduate Programs in Economics.  His research focuses on charitable giving and the economics of education. Read his latest working paper, Generosity Across the Income and Wealth Distributions, at PERC’s publication library.
