Homeownership Working Paper Published by International Economic Review
Feb 01, 2021
Summary: The working paper, “Homeownership and Housing Transitions: Explaining the Demographic Composition,” has been published in the latest edition of the journal International Economic Review.
The paper, authored by PERC Professor Sarah Zubairy and former PERC graduate student fellow and current Louisiana State University Assistant Professor Eunseong Ma, documents the homeownership rate across various age groups from 1995 to 2015 and finds that homeownership rates are relatively large for the young. A life-cycle model featuring housing tenure decisions is then used to explain these findings.
The working paper appears in the December 2020 issue of the International Economic Review.
The full working paper can also be found in PERC’s publication library.
