Dennis Jansen Discusses Workforce Mobility on KBTX

Dec 10, 2020
Summary: Dennis Jansen was quoted in an article on KBTX news that discussed a recent LinkedIn study on the mobility of the workforce.
According to the study, Bryan-College Station tops the list with the most workers leaving the area in the past year with around 270 LinkedIn members per 10,000.
However, the transient nature of college town residents provides more context for these rankings.
“Bryan College Station is on top of that list because of Texas A&M University and because we are a big college town. LinkedIn is calculating the number of members of LinkedIn that have moved in versus moved out of our area,” said Jansen.
Jansen continued, “Students come here, they’re not members of LinkedIn then they sign up while they’re here and they move out and LinkedIn counts them as moving out and that’s a phenomenon of having a big college population in a town.”
