September was a very important month for PERC. The Private Enterprise Research Center celebrated its fortieth anniversary and PERC research scientist Dr. Liqun Liu and Dr. Jack Meyer, one of the Center’s professorship recipients, received an award for their latest paper.
Dr. Liu received the "SCOR – The Geneva Risk and Insurance Review
best paper award" during an official ceremony at the 44th
Seminar of the EGRIE in London on September 18 – 20, 2017. The paper, "Tradeoffs for Downside Risk Averse Decision Makers and the Self-Protection Decision," by Michel Denuit, Louis Eeckhoudt, Liqun Liu and Jack Meyer, was selected by a committee of editors and associate editors of the Geneva Risk and Insurance Review and published in March 2016, issue 41.
While attending the conference, Dr. Liu also presented the paper "Risk and Risk Aversion Effects in Contests with Contingent Payments," by Liqun Liu, Jack Meyer, Andrew Rettenmaier and Thomas Saving.
